My name is Carrie (Not Kelly), and I've got high hopes for the future.
CNK’s Typewriter is where I aim to meet with my tribe 2-3 times a week & develop meaningful, mutually beneficial decent-human-to-decent-human relationships.
A Little About Me
As a Gen X-er wife & mother, having raised and home/unschooled near-three adult children (& contributed to raising a fourth), on a homestead in rural Central Virginia for 20 years while running various online ventures over the years both individually and with my family, I have often taken the road less traveled in life.
With a strong conviction & high value placed on truth (reality), I’ve ventured into territories most would fear to tread, questioning all that I’ve been taught and discovering answers that have rocked my world.
After weathering rough terrains for more than a decade & a half in that journey, I believe I have become stronger and more compassionate, patient & wise as a result. (And I think I was pretty strong, compassionate, patient & somewhat wise before.)
My heart’s passion has always been to express myself and connect with people on a below-the-surface level.
While in the past I’ve enjoyed portraying characters on a theatrical stage and spent my share of time presenting & discussing controversial matters behind a computer screen, my preferred choice of expression is through personal written correspondence and face-to-face interactions, void of any masks or screens.
Thankfully, I have been gifted with a period of time & space to embark on a journey to find my tribe through this online venue, and I am seizing the opportunity to do so.
CNK’s Typewriter is how & where I’ve chosen to reach out and express myself to a broad audience, revealing who I am — beyond the typical two-dimensional portrayal so often seen online.
What to Expect
At least once a week I’ll highlight:
personal experiences from my life,
share some of the specialized knowledge & understanding I’ve acquired (& am still acquiring),
present some of my passionate pursuits, and
offer my unique perspective & deeper thoughts on various matters that likely effect most people.
While some of my particular areas of expertise, experience, interest & opinions may not be up your alley or what you’re intentionally seeking, you may find my authentic, unjaded, ever-hopeful, somewhat idealistic yet oftentimes realistic voice to be refreshing.
A Bit More About Me
I was born & raised in New Jersey, and my name is Carrie (not Kelly). ← You would understand that reference if you heard me speak my name with my New Jersey accent.
I am not religious, yet I hold fast to a love for the Creator & Source of all life and to an appreciation for the natural world, its inhabitants & its established Natural Law & Order.
I used to be a Christian, but I haven’t been for at least the last decade. However, I still greatly appreciate & study the Bible and talk about it with whomever is interested. (I also go by Messyanic, spelled with a “y”, online.) And I, of course, continue to love my neighbor as myself. ;)
I am not political, yet I hold fast to a love for people and seek to actively participate in the voluntary exchange of information & ideas and contribute my personal attention, time & energy towards endeavors with others seeking to make the world a better place through natural means — at the most local level and beyond.
I am not money driven. In fact, I despise the stuff. Although, I do recognize it is needful to a degree these days. However, being self-employed, I am actively working away from relying on the US Dollar as much as possible and moving towards developing private, peer-to-peer barter & gift economies.
I am a life-long learner. I hold fast to the idea that we all can teach what we know and learn what we want. We just need to apply ourselves. ← Hmm. Where have I heard that before?
I am not boring. I like to laugh and sing and dance and draw and color and craft various things with my hands. And I’m continually looking to do more of all of these things.
I am not naïve. I recognize we are living in troubled times. There are Powers That Shouldn’t Be in this world who are wreaking havoc on humanity, committing awful crimes against us & the natural world. I believe many of these PTSB are pursuing an evil agenda, but I recognize who I am and the valuable potential my fellow man and I possess.
I am hopeful. I believe people who care about this world, and about their fellow man, and about the future generations, can make an impactful positive difference & bring about good in this world. We are not doomed — the next generation is not doomed. I believe we can make this world a better place.
I am a doer. I don’t just talk the talk; I walk the walk. And I would love to find others who value life, truth, the natural world with its natural law & order and are headed in the same direction I’m aiming to go. That is, living a more natural, morally upright & loving lifestyle in the company of other morally upright & loving human beings.
